How to restore "Pictures" "Videos" folder's appearance

Hi

I changed location of Videos and Pictures folder's to a second HDD and when I changed it back to default then appearance of that folder changed to a regular folder.

Any idea how to restore the folder icon back to default? Thanks

I have found a solution for windows xp in this  page but that doesn't work in windows 8.1

Hi Kate

"Always show icon, never thumbnails" was unchecked. I ran the script but with no success. This is what came up

Note: I ran PowerShell normal and I also try to ran it as administrator. This pic is with administrator.

I also changed execution policy to undefined and I get the same result

Hi Bruce

I already fix that by changing path of the target folder icon to C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll and chose icon as it was by default. There should be an option to keep user icons by default or use a target folder icon. Is it possible to add it there? At least to windows 10

Im glad that you were able to select the icon that you wanted for the folder.
In Windows 10, there is a Restore Defaults selection in the Folder Options and is for Folder views as indicated by the image sent by Kate Li. To access Folder Options, open File Explorer File Change folder and search options. Here you can restore some of the folder settings. Under the View tab, you can change and reset some of the folder views. But to add that option would require modifying Windows.
